first book of the dreamer trilogy, it felt like the entire book was a set up? The book focused on establishing the newer characters and reintroducing older ones, the actual plot was about trying figure out what was going on with the characters. Hennesy is a great foil to Ronan as a dreamer. Although she is older (I think) than Ronan she has next to no control over her dreams. Ronan, fresh highschool dropout, has a entire dream forest that he has full control over. while Henessy has a lot of experience at life, Ronan has in dreams. We got to see more of Declan in this book, finally get hear about his relationships to his father and dream magic more clearly. He is much more likeable in this book than he is in trc. I found him very relatable to. As a older sibling with tummy problems, I too would react similarly to him if I was force to deal with magic blackmarket my whole life. Carmen an Parsafil was pretty fun to follow too even though they were technically the villains. Carmen in some way similar to Declan, both deal with dream magic due their brothers being dreamers. While Declan loves Ronan and keeps his distance from the magical world to protect him. Carmen does not love her brother (but doesn't necessarily hates him) and tries take some from of control over this magic world to stop other dreamers. Parsifal was very tragic, I feel bad him :(. I wish we got to see more from him. Over all, it was ,again, a set up for the rest of the books plot but fun nonetheless.

Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, a 39 episode anime series came out in the 1990, is about a inventor french boy Jean and a circus performer Nadia. Nadia has a special jewell called the "Blue water" that is hunted by 3 thieves; Grandis, Hanson and Sanson. Earlier episodes mostly follow Jean and Nadia being chased by the thieves, but as the story continues, we get introduced the bigger villains and story get grander. This a pretty fun series, I loved the dynamic between Jean and Nadia. These two was a lot more interesting to me than the sci-fi atlantis plot, I also liked how the thieves become a sort of found family after the bigger villain was introduced. Jean is is more intellectual since he is a scientist, Nadia however is more emotional and connected the nature spiritually. Because of these traits, they clash with each other a lot. Jean can sometimes overlook the emotions of Nadia and can get angry at... everyone, due to her strong morality (like how she calls people around her "monsters" for eating meat, even in situations where that is the only option). But at end, they still love each other deeply and over come these flaws together. Hanson and Sanson (Grandis's henchman), after becoming allies with Jean and Nadia, Guide Jean in "manhood". Sanson teaching him on how to flirt with Naida (Doesn't always work), Hanson sharing Jean's interest in machines and working on projects together. Grandis also gives relationship advice to Nadia and tries to teaches her how to cook (Both doesn't work). I loved this found family, they were so entertaining to watch! ...However, there are a few thing I didn't like... here's a list: 1,Jean has a heavy french accent in the dub and although I got used to it, it was a bit annoying. 2, Maria (a little girl that joins the group at some point) calls king (Nadia's pet baby lion) her "boyfriend".3, at some point Nadia kisses Jean while he's intoxicated (he accidently ate some mushrooms) without his consent and later gets angry at him when he doesn't remember. 4, Jean secretly feeds meat to Nadia without her consent. 5, Sanson marries Maria (the little girl, yeaah) when she becomes an adult. I still enjoyed this series despite these flaws and recommend it anyone who wants a cozy watch!

Second book of tdt, most of the book still felt like a set up. Maybe because I read this during my first year of uni and I was just generally tired but this book was a bit of a slog. Most of the time we followed Herenessy, Ronan and Bryde on a road trip. It's less interesting than it sounds, they actually don't do much, just talk about dreams which I found boring. We also follow Declan, Jordan and Matthew. I liked them a lot more. Declan and his relationship with Jordan was cute and it's very funny to see how Declan is insane about love like Ronan is, runs in the family ig. Matthew's existential break down and finding his identity again was great too. The book did picked up towards the end. The Bryde twist was insane! Definetly made me excited to read the last book of the series. Right now, I'm not exactly as enjoying tdt as I did with trc, it has a very differnt tone. I got this far so feel like I should finish the series (I hate dnfing books..) but I personally won't recommened to trc fans who want a similar thing to trc.
